To Get Away with Crimes, the Koch Brothers Trained Judges
The Koch brothers first started rating and training judges when our government investigated them in the late 1980s for falsifying records and stealing oil from Native American oil wells.
- They used lobbyists and campaign donations to influence Senators to fight against the findings of their own committees, but the Koch brothers wanted to control judges, too.
- So they started rating judges and their verdicts on how business-friendly they were and publishing their ratings in places like newspapers to embarrass them.
- They also started free seminars for judges at fancy places like ski resorts and beachfront condominiums to train them to think properly.
- Of course, the lectures taught them to ignore so-called “junk” science used by prosecutors.
